Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 7, 2026 · Effective Date: July 7, 2026

1. Who We Are

Genesis House powered by United Recovery Project (“Genesis House,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website genesishouse.net and its subdomains (together, the “Site”). Our primary facility is located at 4865 40th Way S, Lake Worth, FL 33461.

Genesis House provides substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and mental health services. We understand that privacy is especially important to the people who visit our Site. This Policy explains what information we collect through our public marketing website, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

Note on subdomains: This Privacy Policy governs genesishouse.net and is also published on, and applies to, the rehab.genesishouse.net and gethelp.genesishouse.net subdomains.

2. What This Policy Covers — and What It Does Not

What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect through genesishouse.net and its subdomains when you:

  • Browse or use our public website
  • Submit an inquiry or contact form
  • Call or text us in response to our online advertising
  • Sign up to receive communications from us

Important Carve-Out: HIPAA-Protected Health Information and 42 CFR Part 2 Records

This Privacy Policy does not govern your protected health information (PHI) or substance use disorder treatment records.

If you become a patient or client of Genesis House, your health information is protected by separate, stronger federal laws:

  • HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act): The privacy of your medical and health records is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is available at net/about-us/privacy-practices/. Your Notice of Privacy Practices describes how we may use and share your health information, your rights regarding that information, and how to file a complaint if you believe your rights have been violated.
  • 42 CFR Part 2 (Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records): Federal law provides special protections for records relating to substance use disorder treatment. These records are subject to rules that are stricter than those under general HIPAA provisions and are addressed in our Notice of Privacy Practices, not in this website Privacy Policy.

If you have questions about the privacy of your health information as a patient, please contact our Chief Marketing Officer, Michael Avellino or refer to our Notice of Privacy Practices.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Give Us

When you interact with our Site, you may provide:

  • Contact and inquiry information: name, phone number, email address, mailing address, and the content of messages you send through our contact forms
  • Insurance and financial information: if you submit a coverage-verification inquiry or financial-screening form
  • Demographic information: if you voluntarily share it as part of an inquiry
  • Communications: any other information you include in emails or phone calls to us

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our Site, our servers and third-party tools automatically collect certain technical and usage data, including:

  • Device and browser information: browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers
  • Log data: IP address, referring URL, pages visited, time and date of visits, time spent on pages
  • Location information: general location inferred from your IP address (not precise GPS location)
  • Cookie and tracking data: described in detail in Section 5 below

Information From Third Parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Advertising platforms: if you click an ad and are directed to our Site, the advertising platform may share limited data about that interaction
  • Referral partners and other referrers: if another website or service refers you to us

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and connect you with our admissions and care coordination team
  • Verify insurance benefits or assist with financial screening, at your request
  • Send you information about our treatment services, programs, and resources
  • Improve our Site by understanding how visitors use it and what content is most helpful
  • Run and measure our advertising so that we can reach people who may benefit from our services
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and security of our organization and others
  • Prevent fraud and maintain the security of our systems

We do not use information collected through our Site to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you without human review.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies such as pixel tags (also called “web beacons” or “tracking pixels”), JavaScript tags, and similar tools. Together, these are referred to as “Tracking Technologies” in this Policy.

  • Our privacy-choice mechanism: See Section 9 (Do Not Sell or Share / Your Privacy Choices) for additional opt-out options, including honoring of Global Privacy Control signals.

Do Not Track: Some web browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature. This feature lets you tell websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. These features are not yet uniform across browsers. Our Site is not currently set up to respond to those signals. We do handle Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals separately — see Section 9.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your name, address, or personal contact details to data brokers or marketers for their own independent marketing purposes.

Here is an honest description of how we do share information:

Service Providers and Business Partners

We share information with companies that perform services on our behalf. These include:

  • Technology providers (web hosting, email, CRM, and data-processing vendors)
  • Call-tracking and communications providers

We require these providers to use your information only to perform services for us and to protect it appropriately.

Analytics and Advertising Providers

Our public marketing website uses analytics and advertising tools operated by third parties. When you visit our Site, these providers may receive and process certain information about your visit — such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken — through Tracking Technologies embedded on our Site.

The confirmed third-party analytics and advertising providers currently active on our Site include:

This sharing of online identifiers and usage data with analytics and advertising providers may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain state privacy laws (including California’s CPRA). You have the right to opt out of this sharing — see Section 9.

Required Disclosures and Legal Obligations

We may share your information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required or appropriate to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process (such as a court order or subpoena)
  • Respond to requests from government or law enforcement authorities
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of Genesis House, our staff, or others
  • Investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected fraud, violations of our policies, or other illegal activity

Business Transfers

We may share your Personal Information to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceedings, in which Personal Information held by us about our users are among the assets transferred.

With Your Consent

We may share your information with other third parties when you have given us your explicit consent to do so.

SMS Opt-In Data

If and when Genesis House offers an SMS/text-messaging program and you provide your mobile number and opt in to receive text messages from us: no mobile information obtained through your opt-in will be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with or sold to any third parties.

7. Your Privacy Choices

Regardless of where you live, you have certain choices about your information:

  • Opt out of marketing communications: You may unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any email or by contacting us at Mavellino@urpfl.com.
  • Opt out of text messages: If you have provided your mobile number and opted in to receive text messages from us, you may later reply STOP to any such message to opt out. You may also contact us at (888) 699-9395. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Cookies and interest-based advertising: See Section 5 for browser controls and industry opt-out mechanisms.
  • Do Not Sell or Share: See Section 9.
  • State consumer-privacy rights: See Section 8.

8. Multi-State Consumer Privacy Rights

We serve individuals across the United States, including residents of states that have enacted comprehensive consumer privacy laws. Rather than maintain separate state-by-state sections, we describe a unified set of rights that we honor for all US residents to the extent required by applicable law in your state.

States whose laws inform this section include (but are not limited to): California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), and Florida (Florida Digital Bill of Rights / FDBR).

Rights You May Have

Depending on your state of residence and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Know / access: Confirm whether we collect or process personal information about you, and obtain a copy of that information in a portable format.
  • Correct: Request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Delete: Request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions (for example, information we are required to retain by law or to complete a transaction you requested).
  • Data portability: Obtain a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used format so that you can transfer it to another organization.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing: Opt out of the sale of your personal information, or the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 9.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising: Opt out of the use of your personal information to show you ads based on your interests or online activity across different websites and services.
  • Opt out of certain profiling: Opt out of profiling in connection with decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
  • Non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy rights available to you under applicable law.

Important Carve-Out for Health Information

Certain information, including “protected health information” governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and 42 CFR Part 2, is generally not subject to these state consumer-privacy rights. Your rights regarding health and treatment records are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, available at our Notice of Privacy Practices.

How to Submit a Request

To exercise any of the rights described above, contact us by:

  • Email: Mavellino@urpfl.com
  • Phone: (888) 699-9395
  • Mail: Genesis House powered by United Recovery Project, 4865 40th Way S, Lake Worth, FL 33461

We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally 45 days, with a possible extension of an additional 45 days where reasonably necessary, with notice). We will need to verify your identity before processing certain requests. We will not charge a fee for your first request in a 12-month period unless the request is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

Authorized agents: If you are submitting a request on behalf of someone else, you must provide written authorization signed by the consumer or proof of power of attorney under applicable law.

Appeals: If we decline to act on your request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us using the information in Section 15. We will respond to your appeal within the timeframe required by applicable law, and we will inform you of your right to contact your state’s attorney general if the appeal is denied.

California “Shine the Light”

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (California’s “Shine the Light” law) permits users of our Site who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please contact us using the information in Section 15.

Nevada Residents

We do not sell “covered information” as defined under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A. Nevada residents may submit a request or direct questions regarding the sale of covered information to us at Mavellino@urpfl.com.

9. Do Not Sell or Share / Your Privacy Choices

This section is reachable via the “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our Site footer.

As described in Section 6, our use of analytics and advertising Tracking Technologies may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (specifically, online identifiers and browsing data) under certain state privacy laws, even though we do not receive money in exchange for your information in the traditional sense.

You have the right to opt out of this sale and sharing.

How to Opt Out

You can opt out in the following ways:

  1. Global Privacy Control (GPC): Where supported, we honor GPC signals as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information for advertising measurement or targeted advertising. GPC signals are processed through our CookieYes consent management platform and apply to cookies and tags managed through CookieYes. If your browser or browser extension transmits a GPC signal when you visit our Site, we will treat it as an opt-out request for purposes of applicable law for those data flows covered by CookieYes. Note: because GPC is processed per browser and per device, you may need to enable it separately on each browser or device you use.
  2. Your Privacy Choices (consent banner): Use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our Site footer to access the CookieYes consent panel and withdraw or adjust your consent for optional analytics and advertising cookies at any time.
  3. Submit a direct opt-out request: Contact us at Mavellino@urpfl.com or by phone at (888) 699-9395. Tell us you wish to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We will process your request within 15 business days (California) or within the timeframe required by the applicable law of your state.
  4. Cookie / Tracking Technology controls: You may also manage Tracking Technologies directly through your browser settings or the industry opt-out tools described in Section 5. Note that these browser-based controls are separate from a formal opt-out request and may not cover all forms of data sharing.

Effect of opting out: Opting out will not prevent you from using our Site. You may continue to see ads for Genesis House, but those ads will not be based on your browsing profile across other sites and services. You may see ads that are less relevant to you.

Honoring your choice: We will not sell or share personal information about you after you opt out. Your opt-out preference will be maintained until you instruct us otherwise, though we cannot guarantee opt-out persistence across all third-party systems (particularly if you clear cookies or use a different device).

10. Children’s Privacy

Our Site and services are not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor, please contact us immediately at Mavellino@urpfl.com and we will delete the information as promptly as possible.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information collected through the Site for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or as required or permitted by law. When personal information is no longer needed for those purposes, we will securely delete or de-identify it.

Unless a longer period is required by law, we apply the following retention periods to information collected through the Site:

  • Inquiry and lead-form submissions (name, contact details, and message content): retained for 24 months from your last contact with us, after which they are deleted or de-identified.
  • Call recordings: retained for 12 months, after which they are deleted.
  • Website analytics data (Google Analytics 4): retained for 14 months.

For any category of information not listed above, we retain it only as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Health and treatment records are governed separately by our Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this Policy.

12. Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information we collect through our Site from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

However, the Internet is not 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted through the Internet. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Accordingly, we do not guarantee the security of our databases or that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.

If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately using the information in Section 15.

13. Links to Other Websites

Our Site may contain links to other websites, including social media platforms and third-party resources, that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party website you visit.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we update this Policy, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will post a prominent notice on the Site (for example, on our homepage) for a reasonable period.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of the Site after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.

15. How to Contact Us

FAQ Block

Q: Does this Privacy Policy cover my health and treatment records? A: No. If you receive treatment at Genesis House, your health information is protected by separate federal laws — HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 (for substance use disorder records). Those protections are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, not in this website Privacy Policy.

Q: Does Genesis House sell my personal information? A: We do not sell your name, address, or personal contact details to data brokers or marketers. Our website does use analytics and advertising tracking technologies, and the sharing of online identifiers (like cookies and IP address fragments) with those providers may qualify as a “sale” or “sharing” under some state privacy laws. You can opt out of that sharing — see Section 9.

Q: How do I stop receiving texts or emails from Genesis House? A: To unsubscribe from marketing emails, click the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us at Mavellino@urpfl.com. If you have provided your mobile number and opted in to receive text messages from us, you may later reply STOP to any such message to opt out.

Q: I live in California. Do I have additional rights? A: Yes. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. These rights are described in Section 8. You can also submit a “Shine the Light” request under California Civil Code Section 1798.83 — contact us using the information in Section 15.

Q: What is Global Privacy Control (GPC) and do you honor it? A: GPC is a browser signal that tells websites you do not want your data sold or shared for advertising purposes. We honor GPC signals through our CookieYes consent management platform, and GPC applies to cookies and tags managed through CookieYes. Where your browser transmits a GPC signal, we will treat it as an opt-out request under applicable state law for those data flows covered by CookieYes. See Section 9 for details.

Q: How do I exercise my privacy rights? A: Contact us at Mavellino@urpfl.com, call (888) 699-9395, or write to us at the address in Section 15. We will respond within the timeframe required by the law of your state.
