Our Commitment to Accessibility

Genesis House powered by United Recovery Project (“Genesis House,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), is committed to ensuring that our digital properties are accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We believe that access to information about addiction treatment and mental health recovery services should not be limited by a person’s disability status, and we work continuously to improve the accessibility of our websites and digital content.

This Accessibility Statement applies to the following digital properties operated by Genesis House:

• net (primary website, including all pages and subdomains)
• genesishouse.net and gethelp.genesishouse.net (this Statement is also published on, and applies to, these subdomains)

Conformance Target

Genesis House targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 Level AA is our goal for all pages and features within the scope of this statement.

We acknowledge that some content may not yet fully meet this standard. We are actively working to identify and remediate accessibility gaps. See “Known Limitations” below.

Legal Framework

Genesis House operates as a place of public accommodation and is committed to complying with applicable federal civil rights law, including:

• Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in places of public accommodation, including commercial websites and online services.

Nothing in this Accessibility Statement is intended to limit any rights or obligations imposed by applicable law.

Measures We Are Taking

Genesis House is committed to the following measures to support digital accessibility:

• Accessibility policy. We are establishing an internal digital accessibility policy applicable to our web content and development practices.
• Integration into content practices. We work to incorporate accessibility considerations — such as alternative text for images, descriptive link text, and logical heading structure — into our content-publishing workflow.
• Staff training. We are developing accessibility training for members of our web and content team so that accessibility principles are applied in day-to-day work.
• Testing and review. We intend to assess our digital properties for conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA on an ongoing basis, using a combination of automated tools and manual review.
• Ongoing remediation. Where accessibility issues are identified — whether through internal review or user feedback — we prioritize remediation based on the severity of impact.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content on our digital properties may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Known or anticipated limitations include:

• Legacy documents. Older PDF documents or forms may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate or replace these over time.
• Third-party content. Certain content delivered through third-party plug-ins, embedded widgets, or externally hosted media may fall outside our direct control. We encourage third-party providers to meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
• Dynamically generated content. Some content that is generated dynamically (e.g., through forms, scheduling tools, or interactive features) may present accessibility challenges that we are actively working to address.

Alternative access. If you encounter a barrier that prevents you from accessing content or using a feature on our website, please contact us using the information below. We will work with you to provide the information or service you need through an alternative means — for example, by providing information by telephone or in an alternative format. Our staff can assist you with navigating our website and, if applicable, completing intake or inquiry processes by phone.
